House rules
What applies on site – from arrival times to using the boats. Answers to the most common questions are at the bottom.
Dear guests, so that everyone has a comfortable and safe stay, please follow these rules:
- Arrival is on the agreed date, from 14:00, or earlier if arranged with us in advance.
- Departure is by 10:00, unless another time has been expressly agreed.
- Between 22:00 and 06:00 please keep noise down and avoid disturbing other guests.
- Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the cabins.
- Please sort your waste according to the labels and use the bins provided. Let us keep the place and the environment clean together.
- Before you leave, please leave the cabin clean and tidy, and clean the boat after use.
- When using the boats, please take care, follow the regulations and the weather conditions, and always wear a life jacket.
- After fishing, please leave outer clothing and footwear in the drying room.
- Please respect the local nature – do not litter, do not damage vegetation, and follow the principles of responsible angling.
The tenant’s responsibility
- Please treat the property, the equipment and all other materials made available to you as they are intended to be used, and return them in the same condition in which you received them.
- The tenant is required to leave the cabin tidy and thoroughly cleaned, paying particular attention to the fridge, freezer, cooker, oven, grill, bathroom and sanitary installations. Please leave the cabin in the state in which you would like to find it. The cost of missing or inadequate cleaning will be charged to the tenant.
- The tenant is required to compensate for any damage caused to the property, the buildings and their equipment, the boats, engines, fittings and so on, and bears the corresponding responsibility for damage caused by anyone taking part in the rental or otherwise given access to the property by the tenant.
- Booking and staying at Fagervika Rorbuferie AS means accepting these rules. In the event of a serious breach, we reserve the right to take appropriate action.

Frequently asked questions
What are the arrival and departure times?
Arrival is on the agreed date, from 14:00, or earlier if arranged with us in advance. Departure is by 10:00, unless another time has been expressly agreed.
Can I bring a pet?
Yes. Pets are welcome in all three cabins.
Is smoking allowed in the cabins?
No. All three cabins are strictly non-smoking. Smoking is not allowed in the filleting room either.
Do I need to bring bed linen and a towel?
No. In every cabin the beds are made up and each guest gets a bath towel.
Are there quiet hours?
Yes. Between 22:00 and 06:00 we ask you to keep noise down and avoid disturbing other guests.
Where can I prepare and store my catch?
Guests have use of a fully equipped filleting room: a large worktop, running water and freezers for storing fish.
Do I have to wear a life jacket?
Yes. Life jackets are compulsory when using the boats, along with following the regulations and the weather conditions.
When is the season?
The season for fishing guests at Fagervika Rorbuferie AS runs from April to the end of October.
Where is the nearest shop?
The nearest shop is about 20 km from Fagervika, which by Norwegian standards is genuinely close.
Do I have to clean the cabin before leaving?
You do not have to clean the cabin yourself. We offer a final clean for 1 200 NOK for Rorbu 1 and 1 000 NOK for Rorbu 2 or 3 – just let us know before you leave. We do ask you to leave the cabin in basic order: dishes washed, rubbish taken out, leftover food removed and your own belongings packed. If the cabin is left in a serious mess, an additional cleaning charge may apply.
Do I need a boating licence?
Yes, if you were born in 1980 or later. Our boats have engines from 70 to 115 hp, so Norwegian regulations require a boating licence to operate them. Anyone born before 1980 is exempt.
Do I need a fishing licence?
No licence is required for recreational sea fishing. If you plan to fish in rivers or lakes, separate permits and local rules may apply.
How much fish may I take out of Norway?
In 2026 the export limit is 15 kg of fish or fish products per person. It may be used at most twice in a calendar year. Export is allowed for anyone aged 12 or over who fished through a registered tourist fishing business. Carry the documentation confirming that the catch is legal when you travel.
How do I book a date?
